This is a great all purpose rub from a book I found in some "mark down bin" somewhere and have used many times for BBQ inspiration. The author Karen Putnam is a world champion BBQ competitor and you can learn more about her and buy her book at her BBQ website. 

 Makes about ½ C

 2 T Kosher Salt

2 T granulated sugar

1 T packed brown sugar

2 t ancho chili powder

2 t sweet paprika

1 t ground cumin

1 t MSG

½ t onion powder

½ t garlic powder

¼ t jalapeno powder
